MYOB Exo to Shopify Integration
Daiwa Foods, one of Australia’s leading Asian food distributors, has modernised its wholesale operations by integrating Shopify Plus with MYOB Exo. The new system unifies five legal entities under one platform, automating pricing, inventory, and order management to improve efficiency and customer experience across the Daiwa Foods Group.
Challenge
Daiwa Foods operates five separate MYOB Exo ERP systems across WA, QLD, SA, NSW and VIC, with each state functioning as an independent legal entity. Despite its scale as one of Australia's leading Asian food distributors, the company's systems were fragmented and inefficient.
Orders arrived through multiple channels - phone, fax, email, and a legacy web portal - with no unified view of customer activity. Each state maintained its own product catalogue, pricing structures, and inventory levels in separate MYOB Exo databases. The existing Ichiba Junction storefront wasn't built for wholesale scale and lacked the B2B functionality needed for complex customer-specific pricing and bulk ordering workflows.
They required a B2B ecommerce platform that could:
Connect five independent MYOB Exo systems to a single Shopify platform while maintaining data integrity for each entity
Manage complex inventory, pricing and fulfilment across multiple warehouses and state boundaries
Route orders automatically to the correct legal entity based on customer location
Provide customer-specific pricing tiers pulled directly from MYOB Exo price matrices
Create a scalable architecture supporting thousands of SKUs with real-time synchronisation
Deliver fast B2B ordering workflows for wholesale and retail customers
Solution
Partnering with Australian Internet Advertising on the customer experience and CyberWorkshop on the ERP integration, Daiwa Foods connected all five MYOB Exo systems to a unified Shopify Plus platform.
ERP integration (MYOB Exo):
Five-way MYOB Exo sync: Real-time inventory, pricing and back-order status synchronisation from five independent MYOB Exo databases into Shopify
State-based order routing: Orders automatically route to the correct MYOB Exo system based on customer state and entity, leveraging entity-mapping logic to maintain data integrity
Purchase order integration: Expected delivery dates for back-ordered items surface dynamically on the storefront
Customer-specific pricing: Price matrices and customer tiers sync directly from each Exo database
Shopify Plus B2B architecture:
Multi-store setup: Each state operates as its own storefront (e.g., nsw.daiwafood.com, vic.daiwafood.com) to reflect five legal entities and state-based operations
B2B workflows: Custom pricing tiers, product-visibility rules, wholesale login gating and minimum-order logic designed for B2B buyers
Fast ordering: Multi-variant add-to-cart directly from collection pages, bulk ordering interfaces for repeat customers
Customer experience & UX improvements:
State-selector pop-up: Guides buyers seamlessly to the right entity's storefront based on their location
Regional fulfilment: Shipping and pickup logic with area-based delivery windows specific to each state
Performance optimisation: High-performance collection pages handling thousands of SKUs with smart filters and enhanced product content migrated from legacy systems
Account management: Self-service dashboards showing order history and customer-specific pricing
